Sad news

Two weeks ago we had the sad experience of putting BOTH of our family dogs down. Rose was expected since we knew that she had cancer and wasn't doing well. However, Howard was much younger and seemed totally fine until a couple days before. All of a sudden his belly got really big and saggy and he didn't seem as playful. James' vet teacher offered to let us take Rose in to get put down at their little class clinic and also said that he could be Howie in for a check. They found that his heart was failing and that he most likely had cancer growing on the heart. SO SAD!!! We sure miss those two dogs. They were like our children before Mason came along. Even before that, they were James best friends and kept him company before we found each other. We sure are grateful that Heavenly Father blessed us with such fun pets. Now that they melted my cold heart, who knows? Maybe we'll get another one soon....

This picture was taken at Grandma Locust's ranch in Snowflake, Arizona in the summer of 2006. It is one of my favorites. We need my sister, Aria, to hurry and move close again so that she can take some more family pictures for us. :)
