Last Saturday Mason got so excited that he flailed his arms while sitting on my lap. This is not unusual, but him scratching my eye was. James was away at his GRE class and I figured it wasn't anything too bad, so we went on a morning jog and just pretended nothing happened. We happened to jog past the student health center and since my eye was still giving me sass, we headed in, jogger and all. An hour later we started a jog again, except this time with a lamo pirate patch over my eye (I was hoping that I would get one of those stylish black pirate patches, but no luck. I guess it IS after memorial day so white is in)! I laughed all the way home because of how dorky we looked. Don't worry though, I only kept it on till that evening (long enough to run all of our errands and look even cooler) and my eye is doing just fine.
This is proof that motherhood is glamorous.
reenacting the crime
So, if having his hand up a cow didn't impress you, here is a picture of James shoveling a bunch of composted manure for our garden! Yep, we are gross. His garden is all done though. I think he is so handsome....even when he is shoveling poop!

Hi Melinda - Glad you found me, what a cute little guy you have even if he does beat you up.
Oh Melinda! You guys are so funny! We miss you! We need to get together again! :)
arrrrrr matey! I'm glad he didn't hurt you too bad.
Hey Melinda...I'm so glad you and Davianne saw each other so that we could all hear from one another again!!! What a precious little boy you have!!! I could eat him up, he is so dang cute!!! Sorry about your eye! We had a similiar thing like that happen in our house a few years back...but it was me who accidentally scratched my younger daughter's eye (when she was 18 months)!! I felt awful!! She had to wear a patch just like yours for a day, and that was it. So fun to catch up with you!!!!
Oh my goodness!! I'm sorry but that is so funny!! So glad you're ok and good job to you hubby on the garden.
Cute little Mason. P.S. I like your couch!
Oh my gosh I love that picture of you in the stroller. I am so sorry about your eye but you pull the patch off very well. Mason just keeps getting cuter.
You're livin' on the edge Melinda! I'm glad it wasn't so serious. -L
Reid did the same thing to me the other day! Maybe that will teach me to keep his fingernails cut a bit better...
