I have enjoyed being the mom of little Mason from the beginning (especially after the first two weeks). However, most of the time it doesn't feel real. He is mine, I know, but am I really a mom? I can't be 'cause I don't know everything like my mom does. Plus, I am not old enough, right? This is how I feel generally, but there are times when the mommy in me comes roaring out (either to protect or to play)and I am pleasantly surprised. The top mommy moments in my book have been when I first saw the little chap, showing him off for the first time, being the only one who can soothe him after a scary dream and when I see him playing proudly with his poppy. Tonight I add another happy moment to the list! We went to the ghetto Allens near our house for some late night treats (not too unusual)and what did we find? One of those cool shopping trips with the car attachment! Hot dog! Mason was pleased as punch to maneuver his way around the isles (or so he thought), I was taking pictures like there was no tomorrow, and James was thrilled to be seen with me. I told the checker woman that I had always wanted to ride in one, but I never got to. She flattered me to no end by saying, "They probably didn't have them when you were little." D'oh! James made me feel better by saying that I still could ride in one if I wanted to. The joys of midget hood. All in all, it was the BEST little shopping adventure and Mason and his mommy had a ball!

I think you are an awesome mom!! And Mason is soo darling! I think you should have gotten in the cart with him. : ) I was wondering if you would email me your mailing address. I think I have the right one but I don't know your zip code. kristilamb4@gmail.com

Melinda, you just crack me up!!! You must be the cutest Mommy ever!! And I just love your little Mason!! What a cutie-patootie!!!
Next time have James snap a few photos of you dancing around the isles like a kid. And I love the checker's comment. Haha...don't you just love those? I can't wait to squeeze little Sydney in there with Mason soon.
Malinda, This post was adorable and made me so happy! Oh, how fun to be a mom! And I can see it just keeps getting better and better!

P.S. I LOVE your tree, I think it's adorable. There is NOTHING wrong with a scrawny tree! (Hello, have you seen ours?!)
Seriously adorable!!! I don't think I have ever thought of putting Lizzie in one. Probably because she would, after 5 mintues, crawl out and want to run up and down the isles. BTW I totally worked at that Allen's before my mission!!!
Darn! I was hoping to see a pic of you in there with him too!!
You are just too funny and the cutest mommy too!
