We Siegs celebrated this beloved holiday a little differently this year. No green elephant gift exchange (very sad), no Darby O'Gill and the Little People, and no box of lucky charms. How in the world did I scrooge it up in such a fashion?!
This doesn't mean we weren't festive though. We had our corned beef and cabbage and wore green. However, the highlight of the day was when we played out front with Mason. James and I had no plan of anything festive occurring during this outdoor adventure, but our wee little leprechaun had another idea. He was in search of his Blarney stone!
He did not have the luck of the Irish on his side with the first attempt. Instead of a rock he found an old piece of dog poop (at least we used green soap to wash his hands so the moment still held a little St. Patrick's day charm). After he got washed off, the merriment continued and he was back on the hunt. This time he found his real Blarney stone and all was well. Look how proud my little chap is. Heavenly Father sure sent us a kindred spirit.

What a cute little leprechaun you've got there. I love that shirt. I had to look up the story on the Blarney Stone. Glad to hear Mason found it in the end!
How funny that you like Darby O'Gill and the Little People. I loved that when I was little and I specifically remember watching it the day that James got hit in the head with a baseball bat and was rushed to the hospital. That was the movie my dad brought home from the movie store to watch while they were at the hospital. Random memory.
What a cutie!! Your love for the holiday really rubbed off on him. He's going to want to wear his green shirt and fancy hat all year 'round if he's anything like his mommy.
I was truly bummed to wake up St. Patty's Day morning and know that I wouldn't be spending the festivities with my Irish-loving sister.
I Love Darby too. Audge, you have a steel trap memory....I didn't remember that, but thanks for bringing up the painful memory of hitting James in the head with a baseball bat. I'm crying into my pillow as I type!!!
