James got an unfortunate phone call this morning. The man that was going to let us keep a cow on his property backed out. James asked him repeatedly if he really was okay with James raising a cow at his place and he repeatedly said that it was totally fine with him. However, this obviously changed once he saw that it was really going to happen after James and Bryce built a pen for the little calf. Oh well. What do you do? I guess Sugar Sweet Farms will have to wait a little longer before James' dream comes true.
On the plus side, at least we didn't buy our calf yet. That was going to be today's activity. However, we did have a ball getting all the milk replacer, bottles and feed for the little guy and that in itself was a treat for my honeybun. James was thrilled and grinned the entire shopping excursion! Even Mason seemed to get a kick out of it. He knew some big adventure was under way.

So even though the calf raising dream didn't come into fruition, at least we got to pretend that we were the real deal for a day. That will have to do for now.

Sorry about the no cow! That's a bummer to get your hopes up just to smash them. I didn't realize how long it had been since I had read your blog. You guys have sure been busy! And full of tons of poop too. ;D
Melinda!!! This is your long lost next door neighbor from freshman year. Sarah Wible!!! I was reading Heidi's blog today and saw you on the sidebar. And then I was like, is that my cute melinda??!!! Holy cow...the last time I remember you were in West Virginia with my grandparents. Now you are married and expecting your second child. How awesome!!! I'm so glad I got a peak into your life. You look so happy. If you want a glimpse into my life in Idaho (hey there are plenty of farms up here for you to come live on :) email me and I'll invite you to my blog.

To quote you Malinda, James looks 'pleased as punch!' in these pic's. I'm wondering what he looked like when he got the bad news? Sorry things didn't work out just yet, they will! :)
If you are in dire need of a day of feeding cattle, drive on down to John's family's farm. They have plenty of cattle and lots of wide open space. (And the smell may help you cope with the loss.)
