Mason, with Mr. Snail. The first of many, many snail friends
Yesterday it rained! It was the perfect Spring storm and we Siegs LOVED it! Best of all was the many snail friends that the April showers brought out of hiding. Mason has been in hog heaven finding all sorts of new friends to play with (I say "friends" very loosely. He refers to them as such, but I have a feeling they can't wait to be let loose again. Shhh....don't tell him).
Every time he finds one, he rushes the snail inside to show his very impressed mother. Then he places them lovingly in their snail home/jar where a leaf the size of a dime has been offered by my boy to make them feel at home. As if he can tell that they are far too excited to eat, he whisks them away to his toys and happily gives his friends the grand tour. "Look Snail! Choos! Hear that! A motorcycle! Look! Charlie!"
He then takes them on the ride of their life!
He then takes them on the ride of their life!
On a side note, at one point Charlie was on the ground while Mason snacked on some chips at his side. Every now and again a tiny piece of chip would fall and I would tell Mason to pick it up so that his investigative little brother wouldn't choke on it. A couple minutes later, after Mason had left the scene, I noticed that Charlie looked like he was chomping on something. In case he had snatched a renegade chip, I zipped over and popped his mouth open. Instead of a chip, I found the biggest snail friend yet! I was horrified! Thank goodness I was in the room! What if my son had chocked on that dumb snail?!!!!! Not only would we have lost little Char, but I would have to tell people how it happened! "Well, you see, he chocked on a snail. In my living room. He was playing on the floor in the living room and chocked on a snail. What, you don't have oodles of snails in your home?"
I guess Mason used to snack on dog poop, so at least this is a step up. Escargot is much more classy.
