4-H Fun

Mason and Poppy, scouting out the show
As part of James' birthday weekend adventures, he requested to go to a nearby livestock show. Once we got there, we realized that it was no ordinary show. All around us were youth in varying ages tucked tightly into Wrangler jeans and boots. It was a 4-H show! We were in hog heaven!

Befriending a piggy
I really think there is nothing cuter than watching the worlds gutsiest kids try to muscle some sort of unruly farm animal ten times their size! This is a good thing because James grew up wishing to be a 4H kid so I don't think my kids have a chance.

The cutest wrangler wearing kids around
Charlie obviously can't wait. He is proud as punch to let people know that he has been around big animals since afore he was knee-high to a grasshopper! That's right, I said "afore."

Mommy and Charlie, looking "city" amongst the hicks. Charlie was a little embarrassed not to be dressed in camo or a mighty fine big brimmed hat. Next time I'll tease my hair and use a bottle of hairspray. Then we'll be one of them.

Don't pretend like you haven't had your hey-day of teased hair and jean jackets. I've got the pictures to prove it. Did someone say monster truck rally and Bone Crusher? This transition into 4-H world should be just like coming home for you.
