Mason looking at his Pops with absolute adoration. They had just gotten back from a little bike ride and Mason couldn't have been more pleased.
Recently Mason has become very obsessed with being the fastest, biggest, strongest, etc. Being best at everything is very important to him right now. When we applaud Char for being fast, he is quick pipe in, "Yeah, but. Not as fast as me?!" Since Mason is as sweet as sugar in every other way, we are really trying hard to nip this competitive preoccupation in the bud. The other day I was talking with him about this very subject and our conversation went like this:
Me: "Now Mason, Heavenly Father made everyone different but we are all just as special. If somebody is better at something, does that make them better than other people?"Mason: "Noooo!"
Me: "You are faster than Char, does that make you better?"
Mason: "No."
Me: "You are bigger than McCabe, does that make you better?"
Mason: (Looking more and more pleased with himself with every right answer) "No."
Me: "Poppy is stronger than Mommy, does that make him better?"
Mason: "YES!!!"
Me: "No."
Mason: "Oh. ....no."
I'm pretty sure I didn't convince him. There is nobody finer in Mason's eyes than his pops. And I really can't blame him.
******I had some extra time so I scanned through and found some old posts that I never published on the blog. They range from last 2009 on. Good luck finding them. They are nothing wowy and most of them are just pictures but I just figured I would put them on anyway.

Hahahaha! Did you tell him that you are (or at least WERE) stronger than 90% of the girls your age? I mean, sure, competition isn't everything, but 90%? C'mon. That's pretty impressive. He might like that. ;)
