Mason's 4th birthday rundown

Mason
Yesterday our big boy turned four. Boy was he thrilled! Or rather, I should say that for the entire 365 days leading up to this birthday, Mason was tickled pink. However, when Mason woke up and saw that the whole house wasn't decorated with balloons and crepe paper, he was a little let down with his mommy. He even said, "I liked my birthday when I was three better 'cause I had balloons to play with." Ouch. Serves me right for getting lazy the night before. Fortunately, after we decorated later in the day, his spirits rose and he was flat out giddy! After dinner and presents, we invited some friends over for the celebratory pinata busting and cake. By the time Mason went to bed, I heard him tell Poppy that this was his best birthday ever. Thank goodness!!!!!!
What says party more than super duper masks (especially the cheapo kind that breaks and smack you with the elastic band every now and again)? Thank you dollar store! Mason thought that with the green mask on he looked like the Green Grinch (that's what Mason calls the Green Lantern).

Opening presents. Char is ready for his birthday now.

Mason really liked his over-sized super duper shirt from grandma. And with a pair of daggers, this boy is set!

Mason opening the blue whale that he had been dreaming up. He asked for a huge blue whale several months ago, but the biggest I could find was about 18 inches long. I happened on some blue-ish fake fur fabric at Joanns so I decided to make him one myself. It certainly did not turn out how I was hoping, but Mason could care less. It's big and soft and to him, that is all that matters.

The pinata and candy with friends.

Mason blowing out his fancy store-bought cake. After his train wreck from last year, this was just a lot smarter.

That first picture of Mason is hilarious! It needs to be framed!

And the pinata looks way too good to be smashed! Wow. You are incredible. There isn't anything you can't do. That huge wale stuffed animal would've cost $150 at least!
