Charlie is TWO!!!!!

 Charlie
Thursday our little man turned two. With Mason's birthday at the end of August and mine just a week before, Charlie was well versed in the glories of birthday goodness. All day long he serenaded himself with the Happy Birthday song and glowed whenever we reminded him of his big day. He greeted his birthday with donuts from his Aunt Arctica (who had spent the night with her kids) and then spent the majority of the morning in his birthday suit hunting for bugs in the backyard. Birthdays don't get much better than that. :)
McCabe, having a swing at Char's pinata. He was a natural.
As always, we had a birthday pinata to celebrate our favorite Char. This year I made him a balloon pinata because he loves balloons so much. Lucky for me, that was the easiest pinata to make. We painted it red in honor of his fiery personality.
The festivities were thrilling

We had a friend from my Sunday School class at church come and wow us with his balloon twisting prowess.  It was the cutest thing in the world....even if eight out of the ten attempts popped (grass and balloons aren't friends).
Mason and Sam
We Siegs know how to make balloons look good.

Char decided to keep his distance after the upteenth popped balloon. But with a Twix in his mouth, he really enjoyed the show.

Char practiced his present unwrapping skills when Mason and I celebrated our birthdays and so Charlie was     pleased as punch to open his own loot. Hot dog!!!
I couldn't find the wrapping paper I got for his big day so he had to have inside-out Christmas wrapping paper.... It's all about the details.

Mason was especially fond of this teacup piggy.
When it came time to blow out the candles, the night/boys were spent so we skipped on frosting the deluxe cake that I had made him earlier that day and went straight to blowing out the candles.
Making his wish
Thankfully, Charlie had never had a balloon cake before so he didn't know what he was missing out on. He thought it was just right. A good time was had by all.
Yum.
