A Family Night Hike

 Spring Hollow Campground
This last Monday, James made my Fall by taking our family up the canyon for a hike and camp fire. Hot diggety-dog! It was so beautiful and reminded me of when my family lived in Konigswinter, Germany when I was sixteen. I just couldn't stop smiling and snapping pictures, so please forgive me for posting so many.
The boys started off with some good rock-throwing. (Except, Char didn't think it was as good after he got pelted in the head by a certain older brother.)

McCabe spent most of the time in our jogging stroller where he was warm and snug under the rain cover attachment that we just got.

My friend, Mehgan, used to say that I would someday take my boys on all sorts of hikes. And now I have three boys and we hike all the time. But as much as I am glad we do it, it is largely thanks to my honeybun who makes it all happen.

The boys did a great job hiking for most of it, but towards the end, Char enjoyed a couple of good piggy-back-rides.

Jamesy taught the boys how to handle an ax while they readied our firewood.

After we built our fire. There are few sports I enjoy more than fire-building.

 Pops and Char

Mason enjoys his mallows on the chard side

Poor McCabey was feeling a little woeful until he got to slobber on a tasty marshmallow. Look at that lone tear! This boy makes me melt.

Char knows how to make s'mores look good. It should be noted that Char styled his own hair with a bunch of lotion before our outing. Mason and Char like to do this on a regular basis to, "Look  like Poppy."

A good time was had by all

What a beautiful area and beautiful family! You look fantastic!! Also, McCabe seems so chill...what would that be like?? As much as I love my Heidi, she is not so "go with the flow" if you know what I mean...
