Char in Mason's old red boots. I have missed seeing these fellas out and about.
This morning the boys and I woke up early to "help" Poppy get take care of some of his research out at the farm before the first session of General Conference started. Even though we didn't prove to be the savviest farm hands, we had a ball trying.
Charlie and Pops moving the feed
McCabe was THRILLED to not have to watch everything from his carseat (like he does on 99% of our farm outings). And when McCabe's enthusiasm started to wane, Char took his comedy act to a whole new level of funny. What good is a brother, if not for a laugh, right?
James is studying the pH levels in the rumen so he has to check inside of his cows every couple of weeks. Sort of gross but REALLY interesting at the same time! So much so, that we all (minus Char and McCabey-Baby) had a go at it.
Pops, showing us how it's done
Char put a plastic bag on his arm to copy us but in the end wasn't so in to the idea.

Me!
After we proved our metal, we then all got to take turns driving around the skid steer. Hot dog!
Mason told James, "I'm really enjoying this, Poppy!"
Char and Pops buckling in
Once again, yours truly. I'm just a cowgirl sweetheart.
General Conference weekend (especially the October one) is always happy in my book. But starting this morning of in such a way was such a treat. After a day of listening and lounging, decorating for Halloween (can you tell by the Halloween pajamas that we are glad it's October?), and driving around to see Fall colors in the canyon, I would say this was a pretty special day indeed.

Hi, Such fun, wish I could have been there. You and your family are a delight! Love, Mom
Fascinating, Malinda! Never a dull moment with you guys. :) I especially love that first picture with those cute red boots.
Thanks so much for your sweet note. I am doing just fine and was blessed to have a very easy miscarriage, physically, so now it's just the frustration and impatience of wondering how long it will be before I can get pregnant again! Grr. But really, I'm great, and I sure appreciate the love. I remember all too well when you had your miscarriage. I hardly knew you at the time but was so sad for you and just had no idea what to say or do to help you feel better! I was amazed at how you handled things with such patience and humility and such a beautiful willingness to accept God's plan even when it was so heartbreaking. I've always remembered and appreciated that. So thanks for the good example (especially now when I really need it)! You sure are wonderful, Malinda. I'm so glad you guys are enjoying the beautiful fall season!
