One of my favorite things about living in Cache Valley was being near one of my FAVORITE friends, Devarie. Devarie and I were companions on my missions for three months and I adored my time with her. While we were companions, she would tell me all sorts of glowing things about her home in Cache Valley and how I was missing out in every way not living there myself. When James and I first moved up there, I wondered what in the world she was talking about. However, once the Spring came and we could explore the mountains, I finally understood. Logan was gorgeous! Lucky for me, Devarie took us hiking a couple times just before we moved away.
The first time we went on one of her days off while James was away at school. She wanted to show me the Temple Fork Sawmill where the Saints cut the wood when they built the Logan temple. Since our boys are pretty good hikers, we figured it was worth a go but about a mile into the hike we had to call it quits and ended up explore a cool beaver dam instead.
On our second attempt we were sure to schedule our hike for when James could come with us. This time we actually made it to our destination! What luck! It was beautiful, but my favorite of all was that we got to spend time with Devarie. She has the gift of making you feel completely comfortable and like you are the best mom in the world. Who doesn't need a friend like that?
She must have been standing on some dirt mound because I swear I tower over her! Oh, and don't notice my hair.
Charpy hurt his little finger and is holding it out for the world to see.
