Finally! I am done with all my orders on Etsy and I can come up for air! Hot dog! I am thrilled that I finished in time to enjoy a full week of Halloween fun before this spooky season is over with! Tonight is our wards Fall Festival and I relieved that all three of my own children's costumes got done right in the nick of time! Now I can parade them around with pride and bask in the glow of their cuteness. I know that is lame, but I really am not joking when I say that this is one of my favorite things about being a mother. It makes all the tears and tantrums (thrown by me or the boys) worth it.
I got such a kick out of having our three men in matching themed costumes that I wanted to figure out a way to do that again. However, Mason had his heart set on being a little brown bat and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to tie that in to the skunk that I wanted Cabey to be. So I gave up on the themed idea and decided that Char would be an armadillo. But then it occurred to me that all three of these little animals are considered varmints. So last year was a woodland theme and this year we went with varmints. When you are as classy as we are, themes like this just come together on their own!
So without further ado, here are their costumes:
Char and Mason did a photo-shoot for me the other morning in the freezing cold weather that we got hit with. They weren't really in the mood but with a little soda bribery, they were all smiles! I love how well they play together.
Mason is in LOVE with his bat costume. Sadly, he gets mistaken for a pig or a bear more than anything else. I guess little brown bats aren't as recognizable as their cousin, the black bat. Who knew?
Cabey is our little mustalid and he takes his job very seriously. In fact, he was such a stinker that he refused to wear his costume up until James got him to in these pictures. Prayers are answered! Now let's hope he wears it again tonight for our ward party.
