Potty training the Coob

McCabe is really into lions right now and likes nothing more than for me to read this book while sits on his throne. To all of my Kansas friends, I promise it never got dirty, but all the same, maybe I wouldn't rent this book anytime soon from the library. Woops!

Well, it happened. As of last Monday I officially no longer have a little one in daipers! Coobie turned two and a half this last week and we celebrated by insisting that he potty trained. We have made several very weak attempts, but this time I was determined! So determined that I went out and bought all sorts of candy to keep him as excited for the change as I was. The first day McCabe pooped four times...and none of them in the toilet! It is safe to say that I was pretty near hopeless about the whole thing and was about ready to throw in the towel. Thankfully I didn't because from them on he has been nearly accident free! (I say nearly since he decided to pee a river al over himself during nursery last Sunday and James had to run him home for new close. Happy Father's day!!!)

Today we were running behind to go meet friends at a nearby park across town and I got pulled over for speeding just before the park's entrance. NO!!!! I have been pulled over oodles of times but have never been written a ticket and I was sure that this was going to be the day because I realized I was going 19 miles over the speed-limit. Poor baby me! When the nice officer came up to my window and asked why I was in such a hurry, I told her that I was on my way to a playdate at the park and that I had no excuse but that I didn't realize how fast I was going and that I was potty training my little one and was running behind. I braced myself for the bad news, but to my delight, after she looked up my information, she said, "I'll just give you a warning today. I'm potty training a little one at home so I know how it is." Then she proceeded to give a sticker to all three of my little men and sent me on my merry way!

So, thank you, McCabe! Thank you for saving me the big bucks! I'll remember this day the next time you decide to poop in your pants or pee all over the toilet. Potty-training is worth it after all!
