Saturday

Last Saturday we headed off to our favorite stomping ground to look for poisonous plants for one of Poppy's classes. It was a beautiful morning, but unfortunately, the park was in the middle of being prepped for spring with the burning of the underbrush. All of the plants that he needed were charred but it sure looked cool!

Cool nest

Since we were already there, Huckle decided to go for a swim. This dog LOVES water! He didn't seem to care that parts of the lake are still iced over.

After Huckle had swimming time, we packed up and headed to another area where we found a trail to hunt for plant-life on. The wonderful thing was, I was able to hike with my menfolk!

And thanks to all of the rock collecting going on along the trail, I was even able to keep up!

Well, for the most part. But who really cares if you have to wait if you have sunshine and a place to rest your head!

Coobie, in all his glory

When all of our hiking was done, we headed home to regroup for our next adventure. While there, James happened to hop onto craigslist and saw that someone was giving away an 11-foot-long sailboat! Next thing we knew, we were all piled into the truck and on our way to claim this beaut!
Do we know how to sail? No. But who the heck cares?! We'll all learn together!

How can you say no to free?! Especially when it makes our man this happy:
What a great day!

Love the updates and love that you are healing and can get out again. (Even if it is a little slower than you'd like). If we were the jealous type we would be SO jealous of your free sailboat. As it is, we'll just be happy for you and hope that we can join you for a sail someday!
