The Heber Creeper

My parents came for a visit this last weekend and while they were here, we had the treat of riding the Heber Creeper. Have you ever done that? I have always wanted to. Especially around Halloween when it is a ghostly ride. Mason had a ball seeing all of the trains at the station. He even had more fun looking at the train while he hung half-way out of the train window (fear not, he was under the watchful care of his great Aunt Jane). It was a very pokey ride but very relaxing. To top it off, the kind conductor let Mason borrow his hat and pocket watch for a spell so he could really get in on the action. Together, they helped us reach our destination (which happened to be the middle of nowhere. D'oh! Once we saw a sufficient amount of dead brush and frozen lake, we turned right back around and headed back to the station. What the?!! I thought we were going to go all the way down the Provo canyon/river! "Wait a minute. Wait a minute!"). A job well done!

All aboard! This is the only shot we have of my Mom and Aunt Jane. Oops.

Conductor Mason. Good thing he has seen a couple Thomas the Train videos to teach him what to do. Conducting a train going 5 miles an hour is tricky

Everyone had a turn looking savy.

On another note, today is a special day in my book. Today is the birthday of three of my favorite people. Mehgana Porterline (my trusted friend from forever), Jennie Vance (my sister-in-law), and Jed Davis (my mission buddy). I hope they are all partying hard. We Siegs are thinking of you. :) Mason and I celebrated by porking down a whole bunch of macaroni and cheese in your honor.

I love that picture of Mason. I'm glad he helped guide the train safely...it was getting pretty scary putting along at some points. :)

I've never been on that. Sounds like fun! I'll have to look into it this summer.
