"Idle Hands" by Mason James Sieg. Cheap watercolor on printer paper. 8x11".
I just want to say that I never EVER want to be one of those moms who force their kids to do the same things that the mom likes so that she can see them excel and live vicariously. That being said, I absolutely LOVED seeing Mason paint for the first time yesterday evening! I must say, Mason is a bit of a modern artist and didn't think twice about abandoning the brush to use his fingers or to scoop big chunks out of his cheapo paint set so that he could get more depth into his masterpieces. Very impressive and inspiring.
While he painted (and when I wasn't snapping pictures of him) I was working on my own art project. I couldn't help but think, "This is the life!"

I love doing art with my kids! Mason looks like he is loving it.
And I love that last pic of him all smiley.
At last! I haven't been able to check your blog for quite some time now (well, it FEELS like it's been a long time. Maybe because I'm used to checking it daily) and I was pleased as punch to get to catch up on so many entries! Huzzah!
Mason looks like he just may be the the next Jackson Pollock. I'm pretty sure Pollock started out with water colors and computer paper too.
He looks like he is having so much fun- what a cutie!!!
I'm pretty sure a blind man without any arms would be a better painter then Jackson Pollock. He could just kick a few cans of paint over and he would much better then jackson pollock.
