Charlie, helping me decorate our front porch for Halloween....and showing off his well-toned muscles while he was at it!
Autumn is here to stay in Cache Valley and we Siegs LOVE it!!!!! I don't know who is more excited for Halloween to visit, me or the boys (the boys, meaning Mason really. But since Char likes everything his brother does, I figure he has the holiday on his mind, too). The day we decorated, Mason was especially giddy and wanted to try on every old costume in our costume box. When it was nap time (the best time of the day) he adamantly stated, "Not time for snoozer! It's Halloween time!" How happy I was to tell him that we can have Halloween time all month long!
Although I miss all of our favorite Fall-time areas to hike and drive in Provo, it really is getting beautiful here. Leaves are changing and dropping and neighbors are starting to light up their chimneys with the finest smelling wood. Although I normally love this, the smell was so potent last night that it woke me up from my semi-sound sleep. For the next thirty minutes, James dutifully searched the house for anything on fire. We eventually concluded that the smoky scent smelled less like a burning house and more like a slow-smoked dinner and that it was most likely coming from outside. By morning, we all smelled like we had been hickory smoked to perfection! If that doesn't bring on an hearty appetite, I don't know what does!
