Tuttle Creek in August

Brothers

Today we headed over to Tuttle Creek to take advantage of the wide open parking lots so the boys could practice their biking skills. We Siegs went to Tuttle creek at least once a week from August to October as a retreat from the stressors of vet school and enjoyed every sliver of time spent on it's lazy warm banks. However, tonight was another story altogether. The reservoir was frozen over, all the leaves have long since fallen from the trees, and it was so cold that the apple I was eating was actually freezing while I snacked! We didn't last very long before we were too cold and had to head home. But being there reminded me of one of our happiest visits on the last day of August. Summer, I miss you!

Mason got so good at fishing by the end of the Summer that he could almost do everything by himself!

L: James, in hog heaven. R: Char, adventuring on the banks

I miss how green everything was!

Cabey, waiting for the fun to start.

One of the younger boys slipped and fell in the water. After that they made a game out of it and spent the rest of the evening splashing away!
This boy has NO fear of water. None. It is rather scary for me and James
While playing, Cabey styled the most amazing comb over ever! Now we'll know what he'll look like if he ever starts going bald....minus the bum cheeks.
James and I were rolling but he didn't seem to mind!

Boat ramps can be so much fun!

Mason wowed us all (especially himself) when he started swimming around in the water without floaties! Hot dog! Who knew that pretending to be an otter was all that it took to get this boy underwater?
And in flip flops to boot!
It goes without saying that he was beyond proud of his abilities

 Char was pretty brave, too
 Charlie
 I love this handsome man!

Cabey thought the worms were pretty fun to play with

Poppy, showing the boys how to catch fish with the net

 Hot dog!

The boys thought this was pretty cool

Mason, showing off one of the minnows they caught

L: Our pretty area. R: Cabey thought that the fishermen were in need of their tackle box

Go, Mason! He's a true otter!

This makes me miss summer so much!
