Me, looking super fancy as I lay passed-out after my surgery. The swelling of my knee has decreased dramatically in the last week. I guess after it originally happened, my knee was about the size of a head. Yikes!
Time continues to march on here in the Sieg household. That is the beauty of time; no matter what you are going through, you know that if you just wait, it will become a memory before soon enough! Thankfully, my surgery was a huge success and little by little, life is improving everyday. There is no doubt in my mind that this was a direct answer to prayers!
Not the best angle, but here is the masterpiece! Four new screws in my re-pieced patella!
My mom was able to come to our aid and has been taking care of us while I mend. We are all thrilled to have her but wish that her visit could be for different reasons. At least we wish that we could at least show her Kansas in all of it's glory, but it has been looking like this outside:
Oh well. At least in the inside we are nice and warm and the boys have been decorating the walls with all sorts of loving notes and valentine decorations to speed up my recovery:
L: Mason made a valentine garland with the fanciest centerpiece ever! What says I love you more than narcodics? R: Mason made a million signs and building-thingies to decorate the wall behind where I spend all my time. I love it. Especially since it helps hide the big eye-sore that was left behind when we took down a bunch of marbled tiling. (I'll paint over it when I am better and all of this down-time is going to help me finally select the perfect color for the living-room.)
As it turns out, Valentines day is a great time to get hurt because people shower you extra with all sorts of sweet notes, packages, valentines, etc. I've been one lucky lady!
Our little friend, Allison, made me the prettiest heart medley to decorate the other side of the living-room.
Thank you, Jamesy-Cakes!
A day or two after my mom arrived, Mason decided to celebrate by losing his first tooth! I STILL can't believe that my baby is now officially not a baby anymore! He is thrilled with himself! Especially since the tooth fairy wasn't able to find the tooth that he placed in a tiny lego-treasure chest under his pillow and now he got paid money AND got to keep his tooth! What luck!
For Valentines day, my mom and the boys made a festive version of the game, Don't Eat Pete, and the boys could not have been more pleased! These boys love candy period, but add it to a fun a game with Grandma and life doesn't get any better! Our whole family would be lost without her! We are so grateful!
