Our first fishing trip of the season!

Coobie could sense that we would be doing some water activity so he started sporting his swim-trunks several days in advance.

Today James took his last test before Spring break, so we celebrated by heading out to our beloved Tuttle Creek for the first fishing trip of the season! This might not seem like much, but after having such a cold, house-bound, painful and stressful Winter, this day couldn't have been more enjoyed! Who cared if James hadn't slept for over 24 hours or that I had a pegleg?! We were in SUNSHINE with our healthy and happy (and homeless-looking) boys! Heaven on earth!

When James and I were going through the worst of the after-math of my break, we decided that if we could just make it to Spring break, we could pull through. At the time I was struggling with intense pain and nausea and frighteningly low spirits. Meanwhile, James was under the incredible stress of our floundering home-life on top of trying to perform well in school with a 21-hour course-load in hard sciences. Not to be too dramatic, but at the time we were at our breaking point and Spring felt like eons away. We didn't have any sort of plans for the week, but we knew that by then I would be in a much better place with my knee, there might be sunshine, and James could have a week to catch up in school. These simple things made the break seem like our salvation!

And now it is here. Time heals all wounds and prayers really are answered! I need to always remember that no matter how dark a trial, there will always be days ahead (whether in this life or the next) that make life worth living again. Today was that day for me.

And dinner was great!
