Mason and his first aid kit that he calls, his "Aid Kit."
It has been said many times that Mason takes himself seriously, but what hasn't been mentioned on this blog is how seriously he takes his role as the family medical expert! Indeed, whenever anyone gets a cut or a bruise, we head over to Mason and his trusty "Aid Kit" for pampering. For this reason, we call him, Medic Mason!
He had a smaller first aid kit until this last Christmas when he got a new and improved version and gave his old palm-sized kit to his eager apprentice, McCabe.
This particular morning, Charlie got burned on his arm while he helped me make waffles for breakfast. The burn was about the size of a thumbnail, but Mason applied burn ointment, cotton, and then an ace bandage for good measure. He got off easy this time, since the time before when he got hurt, Mason used really sticky medical tape and wrapped his whole ankle and leg so tightly with it that I had to tear the whole thing from his skin when I saw it was cutting off circulation. Lucky for me, it was in the library parking lot where heaps of people got to witness me making my son scream in agony. Oops.
Luckily for everyone, Mason's medical care isn't limited only to humans! Even Scout gets to enjoy his skills!
Mason, giving his puppy some sort of vitamin or worm medicine. James let Mason give Scout her Puppy shots, too!
Thank goodness, because we like our pets healthy!
