Lunch out on the town
More and more we use our phones to document our daily adventures. The fun thing about this is that James gets more of a say in what is documented. Up to this point I mostly was the one to haul around our nicer camera and decided what was important enough to shoot. Here are some pictures that he took of Spring, 2014.
After the snow melted, we found a weekend that was relatively stress-free and finally built the back side of our fence. We were lucky that our neighbors already had fences up so we just had to join a back panel with a gate. Even that took the whole weekend. But now our little sliver of a yard is all set to play in!
McCabe in a fence pole hole!
Me, looking fancy and handy!
One night, while I was out doing something, James sent me these two pictures of Coobie in all of his glory. Apperently, he hurt his lip and fixed it himself with a band-aid.
And while he was at it, he got one for his trusty Baby Lion:
I just think he is the cutest little thing! This picture makes me laugh so hard!
At one point we sailed our little boat out to Tom Sawyer's Island and explored around!
We mostly just found bugs, but we also found a few of these cool canadian geese nests:
Charlie even found a lone one that was floating by itself in the water. We still have it and hope that it doesn't ever break since that would lead to a whole lot of stink!
This was my first outing without my knee brace! Hot dog!
On Mother's Day afternoon, we took a relaxing stroll at Rocky Ford where we found this beautiful bullfrog! Actually, I spotted him in the water and took Mason's bug net, lined up, and came down as fast as I could on this guy before he hoped away! In my zeal, I messed up my aim and instead of having the net come down around him, it came down with the metal rim landing squarly on his head. I hit him so loud that you could even hear the smack! I felt terrible! But it sure made for a docile frog! He was so stunned that we were able to catch him as many times as we wanted.
Coobie was pretty sad to say goodbye to the poor thing:
At some point we caught baby frogs:
And a turtle:
And one day we celebrated James being done with his semester by driving up to Topeka and playing miniture golf! Boy was it fun! The boys still talk about that one time they went and played golf and won vampire teeth
McCabe, readying his swing
Charlie, showing brothers how it's done
Mason in his bathingsuit..... apperently wishing there was a swimming hole nearby
Me, taking one of our boys to the bathroom for the five billionth time during our game. I swear! It's a wonder we ever finished the game!
After golf, James treated me to a round in the batting cages.
Who cares that I missed most of the balls?!
After I dominated in the batting cages, we went inside to try our hands at ski-ball:
After Mason and Char got a bunch of tickets, Coobie tried his hand. Sadly, when his time was up, only one little piddly ticket came out. It was so forlorn and unexpected that I laughed so hard I cried! Fear not though, Coobie still got the same lame prize in the end so all was not lost.
We had a great spring!

Oh my goodness the bandaid pictures cracked me up! You sure have some cute boys on your hands! Makes me excited for when my Mason gets older :)
I love your blog! We'll be driving cross country next summer, want to meet at the Omaha zoo?
