Sundays

This January our time for church changed from meeting at 9am to now meeting at 1pm. While many folk complain about having it so late in the day, I for one am in hog heaven! This means that there is a day in the week that we have a chance to sleep in if we wish! And this year was the first mother's day (in who knows how long) that I didn't have to feel celebrated by barking at my kids while we rushed around getting ready to get out the door on time. Heaven, I tell you! As of now, this is generally what out mornings look like:

First, we start off with breakfast together.
We were on a waffles kick for a while. Apparently even penguins like waffles

After breakfast, we usually slip on some shoes and head out for a stroll of some sort:

Charlie has a knack for finding heart-shaped rocks. I have quite the collection! Char is such a little romantic! Yesterday he and I went on a "childrens date" together to the grocery store and he insisted that he open my car door, close it after me, then walked around to the other side of the car and let himself in. He must watch his pops.

Often on our walks, we bring this pup:

And most of the time this boy brings exploring gear:

Sometimes we take trails:

And sometimes we blaze our own:

But always we have a great time!

Then we head home to work on lessons, have meetings, and primp for church. We love Sundays!
...especially when we come home with these:
The boys got these a while back for passing off their Articles of Faith.

***These pictures were taken at the beginning of  this year when it was still cold and brown. This last Sunday we went on the same trail and it as covered with green leaves! I have decided I love the Mid-West in all of her seasons!
