The cork board that we have hanging in our kitchen. Looking at this picture, I realized that our good friend Katie has her head covered in the far right corner. I promise that this is no indication of our feelings for her or her marriage to John. :)

Near the beginning of July our little niece, Sydney turned three and had a huge circus party. Boy was it fun! My sister makes everything look good and this party was no different. She recently sent us some photos of the big day and I put them up in our kitchen to remind us of the fun time. I love looking at them while I cook.

McCabe is slightly mortified by this shot. He was sure he looked a lot cooler when it was all going down.

We Siegs have found a new place to play in the evenings. After Poppy gets home from his research, we change into our suits and head off to the nearby Hyrum Reservoir. We think it's dreamy and can't seem to get enough of it.

James's family is now here and we are loving having them around to play and laugh with. We are so lucky that our boys have so many great cousins on both sides of the family. Since we have been excitedly awaiting this big week for a long time, we Utah Siegs had plenty of time to explore the area and plan where we wanted to take them. A couple weeks ago we headed up the canyon to see what everyone has been talking about. We were not let down one bit! It was so beautiful and helped soften our hearts towards Logan. Summer really is dreamy here

A day of "dandyflowers"

The big brothers. Aren't they fancy in their helmets? They wear them while they ride around on their bikes and then continue to wear them for the majority of their time outside afterwards. Safety first in this house. :) They sorta remind me of a SNL sketch with Mike Myers as a kid with ADHD.

 I just came across this post that I never got around to putting on my blog a month or two back. The pictures were taken on a especially nice warm day after a long week of teething. Poor Char. I don't know why I never finished the post, but the pictures make me so happy. What little sweethearts I have.

The boys were racing to give me a flower. Speaking of, the other day I heard Mason talking to an almost 11-year-old boy in my primary class while we visited outside. Out of nowhere, Mason asked, "Do you want to pick a flower for your mom?" I am sure that the boy thought Mason was loony but I happen to like my little one's that way. :)

Fireworks!!!!

Last night we kicked off the 4th of July weekend with a couple fireworks on our driveway:

 (which are amazingly enough, just as piddly looking in this picture as they were in real life. D'oh!

 Then we strolled off to James' office/lab down the street...

...where we partied-hard. 

As if just being able to play at Pop's lab wasn't enough, we got to watch the firework show put on by Logan at USU's Stadium of Fire! Hot dog!!!!

 Even Baby Cabe thought they were nifty:

(...But couldn't help wondering why he had to stay in the stroller when he wanted to be out munching on grass instead).

The show was so exciting that Char jumped right out of his pants!

Needless to say, I was jealous. :) Thank goodness that we had the lawn to ourselves....otherwise we would of had to at least pretend to parent.

Now, THAT is freedom!

I don't know what part of the night I enjoyed the most; watching my men have so much fun or getting to jog past the endless line of slow moving cars as we headed on home. Such a happy night.

You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Summer seems to really be here to stay and we are thrilled! To celebrate, we got an ice cream maker and have been trying our hand at creating edible works of art! Watch out Ben and Jerry's! My goal is to figure out Thrifty's Chocolate Malt Crunch (the best ice cream flavor ever). In the meantime, we are enjoying the practice. Wish us luck!

Summertime

You know that Summer has hit when James and Mason pull our their trusty nets and explore local parks for bugs and such. Boy is it a hit with Mason!!! Even when nearly nothing is found, he is still in hog heaven just being with his Pops.

One Saturday in the beginning of June was especially hot so our little Sieg family headed up to the mountains to visit our very favorite lake. James and I found it about four years ago when we were out hiking and we have made a point to revisit it ever since. This time we had the whole lake to ourselves until a family on horseback rode through for a bit. It was heavenly!
