Here are two videos of Bryce being carried out in a basket to a safer landing and loading location. He said that it was like having a nightmare flying dream come true. YIKES!

Bryce's Scary Adventure
James' brother, Bryce, headed off to hike Mount Timpanogos last night with a group from his ward to watch the sunrise. He has done this before and LOVED it. We said a little prayer for him when we went to sleep and when we woke up, but we figured it was a ward activity and he is a pretty athletic fella, so all would be fine. However, around noon we got a call from the emergency room telling us that he "fell off the mountain" and was being treated as a "trauma victim" in the ER and was currently "breathing and awake." WHAT?!!!! James zipped over there in a heartbeat, leaving me to man the phones with Mason at home(D'oh!). Luckily, when James got there, he found that besides a nasty compound fracture, Bryce was okay. He fell when he was sliding down the glacier on the way down and couldn't stop himself 'cause he dislocated his shoulder while he was at it. Because there was no safe way to get him down, they life-flighted him out of the snow. Can you believe it?! He had to have a rod surgically placed in his leg this evening and everything went really well. We left him happily snoring in his hospital room safe and sound before heading home to put our tired tike to bed. What a blessing that he is okay. Bryce is too good of a babysitter to lose him. :) Just joking.
The group watching the sunrise. Isn't it gorgeous?!
Pretty cool.
Bryce and his women. :) I have no doubt that he can have the pick of the ward after this.
Gross. Poor guy.

Glad that James' brother was OK! Bryan thought the videos of the helicopter were really cool. I'm a wuss though: I think they looked terrifying!! :)
HOLY COW!! I would have totally Freaked out if I ever had to be flown out like that!! I don't much like flying or hights. Glad he's ok. Good thing you guys prayed for him!
So scary- but glad he is ok! Being hauled up like that looked terrifying, but kinda cool at the same time- as I sit in the safety of my living room of course (c;

Looks like your bro in law got a nice cut there. I know a little about those helicopter rides from someone who would like to turn those kind of rides into a carerr... long story.
Anyway, so good to find your blog.
